True love stories never have endings.
 ~Richard Bac

While I am editing the wedding I shot this weekend, please enjoy these wonderful images. My sweet, dear, fun as all get out bless her heart friend Lindsay got engaged last week! She was my second shooter for the wedding  and while we were waiting in the wings, we shot these. I have never seen someone who was more excited to be spending the rest of their life with the person He made for them!  YEAH!!!! I hope the excitement rubs off on you, rub rub!
Congratulations Jonah & Linz!!!

brother-in-law debut

on Thursday, August 27, 2009

Our brothers and sisters are there with us from the dawn of our personal stories to the inevitable dusk.
~Susan Scarf Merrell
This is my bro-in-law's debut on my blog.

I love him. To me, this is Jake; relaxed and not dragged along my the commotion that is 3 little children and a creative, busy wife. He often finds himself transformed into a horsie, a monster, a storyteller, a boo boo kisser, lead singer for the Smoking Jacket, king of the Wii, writer, peacemaker, brother, husband, father. He is the only brother I have ever had and I love him because one day when I was still a teenager in the midst of a chess match he looked up at me and said in his matter of fact tone, "I think you're witty." He really liked/s me. That clinched it for me.

I love my brother. He deserves a nap.

Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever...it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.
~Aaron Sisking
My dear friend Tia, a fellow photographer, came into town yesterday for an impromptu photo shoot! It was super quick but we had fun catching up on life in the beautiful setting South Carolina sun. Check out her website: www.lifethroughtiaslens.blogspot.com

You will enjoy just seeing her laugh- imagine how life giving it is to hear in person! Love you Tia!

Oh heavenly day,
All the clouds blew away
Got no trouble today, with anyone
~ Patty Griffin

Saturday, oh Saturday WAS a Heavenly Day! Among other things (long car ride with my beau, witnessing a wedding of two very dear loved ones in love, a new skirt) I had the joy of photographing the lovely Miss Haley Shaw! Besides being an ever dear friend and lovely soul, she is an incredible musician!(It was quite the moment when she got in my car to drive to the impromptu shoot and her music was playing on my iPod. I suppose she was flattered. For a second or two I felt like more like a "fan" than "friend.":) Below is her myspace page. Check her out! We ran around the historic/downtown section of High Point, NC and you can see how much of a giggly, shiny, happy time we had. Enjoy!~*

There is no surprise more magical than the surprise of being loved.  It is God's finger on man's shoulder.
~Charles Morgan

Finally, here are some images from the beautiful and joyful wedding I photographed last month. Nicole and I met in Ethiopia and were reunited in Brazil a few months later while we were both working with women in developing nations. She is a precious sister and friend and I was thrilled to be able to capture her day! It was also wonderful to finally meet Aurom who was all he had been billed as and more. :) Love you both, I have no doubt you are enjoying the gift of one another from the Great Gift Giver!
